JESC 2011 REVIEWS BY ALEX SPARROW

The team of oikotimes.com, the first website publishing video previews of Eurovision and Junior Eurovision, is launching the JESC 2011 video reviews on November 14. This year oikotimes.com has the honor to host the text reviews of Alexey Vorobyov (Alex Sparrow) who represented Russia in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf.

RUSSIA
My home country which I love and always support. Katya is impressive in the video and gives a very emotional performance. She can sing as a professional in an adult event and for sure I trust she will end up in the top five. Russian music is starting conquering the world and I wish her the very best.

LATVIA
Nothing much actually but I can see that Amanda is giving her soul in it. This can make an average song, into something special. Latvia though will just get maximum points from Lithuania and I hope the stage presentation is carefully made as such to help this singer on stage.

MOLDOVA
What a sweet little girl. I would vote for her for sure. She is so fit for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Would someone vote for Moldova? well they should, this is a total charismatic child with many potentials this year in Armenia.

ARMENIA
Not bad but also not something we haven’t seen. They try to be adults in a Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The performance of Armenia reminds me the 2007 UK entry by Scooch and therefore they cannot impress with this. Also Armenia won and hosted the event, it’s clearly impossible to do it again.

BULGARIA
This is interesting. Little Ivan seems quite professional and his looks are very attractive for the young audiences which will be impressed. The song is very typical Eastern Europe tune and Bulgaria can attract votes.

LITHUANIA
Paulina is giving a very good performance in the video. If you just listen to the song one time you will not pay attention to it but if you listen to it again you will see the magic. If the stage presentation is greater than the song, then Lithuanian entry could be the surprise this year.

FYR MACEDONIA
Dorijan is coming this year with a jazzy song, with many theatrical elements. I am not sure but from my small knowledge of the contest these theatrical songs are not doing well. I am sure though that they will find a presentation that can impress European voters on the big night.

NETHERLANDS
This is a copy of Britney Spears song for sure. Rachel though is very professional and very charismatic. They can win the entire thing without anyone actually notice them. The tune is catchy and I can easily confuse it on the radio with an adult song.

UKRAINE
Ukraine is interesting but very typical. Kristall is doing her best in a totally Ukraine, Eastern Europe sound, they might do well but I am not sure that Europe wants so much Russian sound in a song.

BELARUS
Lidiya impresses me with the charisma she has. One a first look of the video you can also say that this song is indifferent but the feeling of mine say that this can actually score high.

SWEDEN
Hm, I think we have a potential winner. The tune and the singer are the best choice to see the closing titles in the 2011 Junior Eurovision edition. Erik Rapp is the junior Eric Saade for me and I would definitely vote for him!

GEORGIA
Disco dancing love it! Georgia is definitely going in the top three with Candy girls to impress and rock the stage in Armenia. It’s simply excellent, they have nothing to worry they can enter in a junior or adult contest at any time and they can smash everything. 12 points for this one!

BELGIUM
Sweet and retro but too sweet and too retro. This is a very suitable Junior Eurovision entry, this is what the contest is all about, but Femke is not convincing me that she can impress the viewers. Though I have to admit that the draw for Belgium can work miracles.
