SEVERINA (2006) ENJOYS SUCCESS
Severina, who represented Croatia at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, can add another title to her name. “The Hollywood Reporter” has listed her 2011 hit single “Brad Pitt” as one of the best 15 songs to be produced in Europe in 2011.
The song was released on August 1 and has been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube. The song was, and still is, extremely popular not only in Severnia’s native Croatia but across the former Yugoslavia.
“The Hollywood Reporter” notes that despite risqué scenes in the “Brad Pitt” music video, it is still safe to watch at work. Severina first gained fame outside of Croatia after a homemade sex tape was leaked on the internet. Following this debacle (or blessing in disguise) the singer gained major fame for her music rather than other abilities on display in her home made video.
Today, she is considered one of the most popular artists in the former Yugoslavia. Competing with the song “Moja štikla” (My High Heal), Severina won 13th place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens. She is set to release her new album “Pyjama Party” next year.
