CROATIA DECIDED 2012: NINA TO BAKU
Croatian national broadcaster surprised everyone with the announcement of Nina Badric as the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest representative while HRT was ready to proceed to DORA 2012 under a new format. Croatia follows the road of other Balkan nations and selects internally this year and during DORA 2012 she will present the song for Baku.
In the new DORA, two nights will cover the event. In the first night all past winners will compete again with their winning entries and the viewers will decide the all time best winner. In the second night Nina will present her Eurovision 2012 entry. Nina is popular in Croatia as she participated 4 times in DORA (1993, 1994, 1995, 2003).

Nina Badrić (born July 4, 1972 in Zagreb) is a Croatian pop singer. Before starting her career in the entertainment industry she used to be a bank teller. She began performing in early 1990s, exploiting the sudden popularity of dance music, but her repertoire gradually became more mainstream. She’s also very popular in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia.
She competed in “Dora” – Croatian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 4 times. She won 7th place in 1993 with “Ostavljam te”, 10th place in 1994 with “Godine nestvarne”, 18th place in 1995 with “Odlaziš zauvijek”, and almost won in 2003 with “Čarobno jutro”, being a runner-up to Claudia Beni with “Više nisam tvoja”. Nina starred in popular Croatian television show Mjenjačnica, where she swapped for a day with a zoo animal guard.
