Mario Skordis said: The choice of Ivi Adamou was wise and I made the proposal last year. We have some very good artists but they don’t enter the competition and I agree that we have to choose internally making a song selection instead.

I heard the songs many times and La La Love is the most suitable for the Eurovision 2012 edition. It’s happy, fun, youth and catchy and fits Ivi Adamou as well as the Eurovision style. I cannot say how Cyprus will do this year, it’s always a matter of the other songs, the stage presentation and more.
My favorite Eurovision entries for Cyprus are 1996 (Mono Gia Mas, Constantinos Christoforou), 1991 (SOS by Elena Patroklou), 1998 (Genessis by Michalis Hatzigiannis) the entry with which I started as HoD and 2004 (Stronger Every Minute by Lisa Andreas). My worst entry is the 2000 one by Alex Panayi and Christina.
A moment Mario Skordis remembers from the backstage of the contest is the 1998 Eurovision edition where they saw that the clothes of Michalis and his backing singers are not good on camera and that Michalis went to the local stores to find something better. He is also surprises that in 1997 the Cypriot entry ranked that high and considers unfair the results of Cyprus in 2002 and 2004.
