UMK 2012: THE 12 FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
The Finnish selection will continue tonight in finding the ultimate entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Our readers can follow the show on the the web. 12 entries, selected by a jury, will be presented. In addition three shortlisted songs will fight for a wild card selected by the viewers.

The show has started. The hosts Anne Lainto and Joona Kortesmäki are presenting the concept. 540 songs were sent in to YLE of which 314 were in English. 40 were selected in the first round. We can now hear comments on the songs from the selection process from the jury members, as well as comments from artists among the 12 presented tonoght but also others who didn’t qualify.
The songs which got the “green cards” = the 12 selected songs are:

One of the above will selected based on televoting starting now and continue until 2 February.
8 of the 12 songs will qualify to do live gigs. Next Friday the qualification process continues. Congratulations to the contestants.
