BTRC ANNOUNCE EYM SELECTION DETAILS

Belteleradiocompany announces the beginning of the national selection for Eurovision Young Musicians 2012, established by European Broadcasting Union in 1982. The contest will take place in Vienna in May 2012. Traditionally, its final will be an opening of the world-known Vienna Arts Festival.

Eurovision Young Musicians – is the international contest of classical music for young talents, held every other year.

Belteleradiocompany is the organizer of the national selection. The contest is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.

Young musicians, who haven’t reached 19 on the day of submission of an application, and in 2012 are still under 20, are allowed to take part in the selection.

Musicians playing any musical instrument, which can play solo accompanied by an orchestra, can participate in the event.

The music activity of contestants shouldn’t be their profession now.

An application for participation in the contest should be sent to the Belteleradiocompany’s address until February 15 by registered mail. Regulations on holding the national selection of Eurovision Young Musicians 2012, a questionnaire and application form are published on the website of Belteleradiocompany www.tvr.by.

The national selection will be divided into 3 stages: the selection stage, audition and final. The professional jury will consider all applications until February 20 and select contestants for audition, which will take place on February 27. Following the results of the audition, the jury will decide on finalists. The winner of the national selection will be decided by summing the results of voting of the jury-members in the final. The Final will take place in February-March 2012.

TV channel “Belarus 1″ will broadcast the Eurovision Young Musicians 2012.

Ivan Karizna was the first participant of Belarus at Eurovision Young Musicians-2010. He became the finalist of the international contest.
