SANREMO 2012: THE STORY SO FAR
The 62nd edition of Sanremo started on 14 February. This is the second edition of the Festival with Gianni Morandi in charge. On February 18th the final show will take place and we will know the winner of Sanremo 2012 and the Italian representative to Baku 2012 Eurovision Song Contest as Ell & Nikki will be on stage announcing the lucky one.
DAY 1
The festival was opened by the show of Luca and Paolo and their political jokes. The voting system failed in the first day so no elimination was made. Also notable in the first day was the performance of Adriano Celentano who made an attack against the Church and got bad reactions from Vatican the next day. The contestants:

The newcomers category, entitled Sanremosocial started the evening, featuring 8 songs, divided in 4 batles:
Alessandro Casillo – E’Vero (89 %) vs. Giordana Angi – Incognita Poesia (11 %)
Iohosemprevoglia – Incredibile (69 %) vs. Celeste Gaia – Carlo (31 %)
Erica Mou – Nella Vasca da Bagno del Tempo (64 %) vs. Bidiel – Sono Un Errore (36 %)
Marco Guazzone – Guasto (62 %) vs. Giulia Anania – La Mail che non ti ho Scritto
In the Big Names category, the four acts that where sent to fight for survival in the 3rd night where:

DAY 3
The third featured international artists like Sergio Dalma, Noa, Goran Bregovic and Sarah Jane Morris who made duos with the acts from the Big Names category. Irene Fornaciari and Marlene Kuntz where eliminated from the competion. The combinations where:
