EIGHT SHOWS IN EUROPE
This weekend Europe is celebrating music and is gearing up for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 with eight national selection shows: Croatia presents the song for Nina Badric, Italy, Latvia, Ukraine and Georgia decide their representative artist and song while Sweden and Estonia hold their semifinals. Let’s see in details what will happen:
UKRAINE 2012 FINAL
21 acts will compete today in the Ukrainian final which didn’t avoid the scandals again this year. The show begins at 11:30 CET and will be streamed by eurovision.tv. You can listen to the participating songs here and also cast your vote (up to 5 favorites) below. It seems that in this selection Renata is the favorite. Jury and televoting will decide the winner.
CROATIA 2012 SONG PRESENTATION
HRT airs the dora 2012 show which celebrates this year the 20th anniversary marking the celebrations of Croatia upon independence. The show begins at 20:00 CET and will feature performances by previous Croatian entrants in the contest. You can watch the show here.
LATVIA 2012 FINAL
After two semifinals, LTV is finally deciding its representative for the Baku 2012 Eurovision Song Contest with 10 acts. The show begins at 18:00 CET while the superfinal is set for 20:00 CET. The show will also feature some special features and guests as Latvia celebrates 10 years since their first and only victory in the contest back in 2002: Azerbaijan prepares a special surprise for them while Maria Naumova (Latvia 2002), Musiqq (Latvia 2011), Sinplus (Switzerland 2012), Olga Rajecka and cello trio Da Gamba will perform during the show. LITHUANIA 2012 SEMIFINAL 3
The third semifinal takes place tonight in Lithuania. Eurodiena 2012 Semifinal 3 will feature 9 acts from which three (2 by jury and 1 by televoting) will proceed to the final. The show begins at 20:00 CET and will be available online here. Already Monika and Bekeso Vilkai are in the lead of the jury voting.
SWEDEN 2012 SEMIFINAL 3
SVT airs the third semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2012 one of the popular national selections for Eurovision Song Contest in Europe. Eight acts will fight for the tickets to the final (2) and to second chance (2). The show will start at 20:00 CET and will be streamed here. You can listen to the songs of this semifinal here.
ITALY 2012 FINAL
Through Sanremo Festival 2012, Italian national broadcaster, RAI is going to select also its representative for Baku 2012 Eurovision edition. If the experiment of last year applies again then it seems that Alessandro Casillo is a hot favourite for the ticket to Baku as he won the Sanremo Social competition last night. The show begins at 20:45 CET and will be streamed online here. Ell & Nikki will have the honor to be on Sanremo stage and announce the Eurovision representative for Italy 2012.
ESTONIA 2012 SEMIFINAL 1
At 20:35 Estonian national broadcaster kicks off the 2012 national selection with the first semifinal of Eesti Laul 2012 in which 10 acts are going to take part. The show will be streamed online here and jury with televoters will decide the qualifiers. You can listen to the Estonian songs online here.
GEORGIA 2012 FINAL
On Sunday, February 19th, Georgian national broadcaster holds the Eurovision 2012 National Final with nine acts which you can listen to here. The show will feature guest performances by Eldrine (Georgia 2011) and Junior Eurovision 2011 winner, Candy Group (Georgia 2011). You can watch the show here.
