Little over a month since Georgia first entered the Eurovision Song Contest, qualified to the final, and then came very close to finishing in the top 10, Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) has announced that the country will debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Rotterdam this December.
Due to the rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest stating that all contests must sing in their native language, it will be the first time that Georgian will be heard on any Eurovision stage. The deadline for submitting applications to the broadcaster is July 10, and participants need to be aged between 10 and 15.
With regards to the selection of the song, reports ''The national contest will be held in three tours. All applications will be discussed during the first tour. Then the regional casting of participants will be held with the 12 best ones being selected. At the final concert, a person, who will depart for Rotterdam, will be revealed.''
