Hadise Açıkgöz was born in 1985 in Mol, Belgium). Her parents came from Sivas, Turkey, and migrated to Belgium. From an early age Hadise knew that she wanted to pursue a career in music, and although she has been a professional singer since the age of 17, she still continued her education and thus gained a BA in Marketing.
Hadise rose to fame in 2003 when she entered the Flemish version of Pop Idol, at the age of 17. Although she failed to win or even to make it into the semi-finals, she was accorded an album contract after her performance impressed her future manager, Johan Hendrickx, the founder of "2Brain Records". In 2005 Hadise released her debut album "Sweat", also the name of her lead single, was released in Belgium and later in Turkey, where she also found early success. Even though the album failed to chart on the ultratop album chart, it spawned the hit singles: "Stir Me Up", "Milk Chocolate Girl" and "Bad Boy", which all charted on the Ultratop 50.
Taking time off to write new songs for her next album Hadise, she returned to the music scene in 2007 with the single "A Good Kiss". Since 2007, Hadise then released the single "My Body", which became her most successful song in Belgium. Hadise also recorded a Turkish version of the song, "Deli Oğlan" which is currently a huge hit in Turkey peaking at 3 on the Turkish official chart and currently at 4, 9 weeks after its peak.
Hadise is known for her experimenting with the R&B genre often blending it with Turkish pop, which gives her a unique style/sound.
Although in 2006 Hadise said she would never take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, especially after her friend Kate Ryan failing to make it into the finals, in 2009 Hadise said she would like to take part in the contest representing Turkey.
