The big winner of last Saturday's Lithuanian heat 2 Deivis "Lietuva" just got disqualified from "Lietuvos Dainų Daina" since it shares way too many similarities to Sixpence None The Richer's version of "There She Goes" originally released by The La's. Lithuanian Authors Associasion LATGA-A announced today that while the song is not completely plagiarised, some parts indeed are the same and thefore not only this song has to be disqualified from "Lietuvos Dainų Daina", but it is forbidden to air that song in public as well due to violations of author rights. And there it goes, the most obvious Lithuanian winner ever just got disqualified, what means that the game is back on and anyone can win! Personally, I find this very good news, because although "Lietuva" might seem to be very Lithuanian and patriotic, we would have been misunderstood in Europe and would fail to qualify from the semifinals again...
