On the Turkey part of his promo tour, Sakis Rouvas spoke to Sabah Newspaper of this country. "Hadise is simply genius and Düm Tek Tek is a great song, I want to perform a duet with Hadise" said Sakis Rouvas.
You came 3rd in Istanbul. What can you say about your first Eurovision experience? What is your expectation for this year?
"I had great memories in Istanbul in 2004, I can't forget those 15 days. I tried to do my best on the stage. I think being 3rd was a good success. This year I will be focusing on reflecting my total performance on the stage. I hope this year will be better than 2004."
To whom did you dedicate the song, This Is Our Night? A beloved, or maybe the whole Greek nation?
"The "our" in This Is Our Night represents everyone, people in all the corners of the world. Especially those who believe in positive energy, passion and the energy of love. This song has no boundary, no ethnicity. I want to make everyone stand with rhythm, energy and optimism"
You had given a concert together with Sertab in Istanbul in 2004. You have any concert plan with a Turkish singer this year?
"Sertab is a great person. I had had a great time with her on the stage. I always like to share the stage with musicians from all over the world. I believe in the universality and connectivity of the music. For this year, we have no concrete plans yet; but I would love to perform a duet with Hadise."
By the way, how do you find Hadise's song? You had stated that she was your favourite for this year, do you still think so?
"Of course I still think so. She has an amazing stage performance. Lots of good contestants will perform in the contest, but Hadise has a very big chance. Düm Tek Tek is an awesome song. I met Hadise when she came to Greece for the Greek national final. Hadise is a genius!"
Sakis Rouvas will be representing Greece for the second time after 2004. He also hosted the event in 2006 in his home country.
