The EBU officially invited 54 countries for the next Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. So far, only two withdrawals have been announced. Hungary and the Czech Republic are not going to compete to the next contest. Countries like Andorra or Estonia are also rumoured for withdrawal from the next contest due to financial cuts, but a final decision for the two countries has not been taken yet. "They have not yet officially reported it to us, but countries come and go" said Svante Stockselius. The countries have the time until mid-December to respond to the invitation, though the maximum number of the countries taking part must not be more than 45, which is the maximum number for the participating countries.
