Moreover, I think that singing in English is an even smaller token of "a real representation of a country" than a foreign-born singer or composer...

@Xristos: I don't think that it is a problem for them. Because of their small size, they have a de facto close relationship with another country, but then you forget that even some bigger countries allow foreigners to represent them, for example in the ex Yougoslav countries, and even if some singers have roots in the country they represent, they are native from another country (Hadise, Elena Paparizou, Arash, Kalomira, Isis Gee, etc.) I don't think the Monegasque culture is different from the French culture, neither is Liechtenstein different from Switzerland & Austria .

I'm sure HRH Alois could easily give the broadcaster a few billion francs...

@27boy what i meant is that those countries hardly have a music scene and almost always end up with foreign singers and composers so is that a real representation of the country?

@xristos: why? isn'tthis racist? doesn't those people have a right to represent their flag and nation in eurovision?

i was never a fan with countries like Monaco Andorra San Marino or Lichtenstein when it comes to ESC participation. All of them are closely related with bigger ones their population altogether cannot even reach Malta's one....! Won't miss them
