Four acts seems to have already been selected for the Greek national final set to take place in February.
Katerina Avgoustakis (Heaven Music)
Avgoustakis is a Greek-Belgian singer with many hits in Belgium, Poland and Bulgaria. She was the 2006 runner up in the Belgian Eurovision national final, winner of the 2005 Super Idol in Belgium and winner in the 2009 Summer Sopot Festival in Poland. She recently signed with Heaven Music, but is totally unknown to Greeks and she speaks no Greek at all!
Kokkina Halia (group by Sony) and / or Professional Sinnerz (group by Universal)
There is still a confusion whether both groups or just one of them will enter the national final. Both groups are extremely popular and have many radio hits. Kokkina Halia (Red Carpets) participated in the 2008 Greek edition of X Factor, while both groups are promoted by the Greek media and are considered appealing to the youth vote.
Despina Ricci (Minos EMI)
Ricci is a Greek-French singer, more alternative than the others and is currently preparing a new album. Oikotimes met her at an appearance in the MEGA TV morning show a year ago and recently her music video aired on the popular Greek music TV station, MAD TV.
NO BUDGET
ERT is making clear that there is no money to spent for promotion, a music video and other activities regarding the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. ERT will officially submit the national final winner performance as video clip. If the winning artist wants to make a music video or have any promotional activities then the record label and he/she, must pay for it.
DATE OF ANNOUNCEMENT
It is expected that official announcements are going to be made by next Wednesday. There is no confirmation on the date but for sure oikotimes.com will bring you the news first.
