Between 15 to 18 of December the Greek national broadcaster will make the official announcement which leaked few days ago on the web. So far the record labels nominated to ERT six names for the 2010 Greek national final. The names are:
Katerine Avgoustakis (MINOS EMI)
Despina Ricci (MINOS EMI)
Sanny Baltzi & Ioanna Metaxa (MINOS EMI)
Emigre (UNIVERSAL)
Melisses (UNIVERSAL)
Eleftheria Eleftheriou (SONY)
The reactions reaching the meetings of the Greek national broadcaster made clear that Elftheria Eleftheriou and boy band Melisses, were totally negative. The broadcaster reconsiders their nominations on the basis that those two nominations have no prior discography to support and fan movement after winning a national final. Eleftheria was voted out of the Greek X Factor as the least wanted wannabe star and the group Melisses, while they launched their first video clip, they haven't been on any TV show yet for the viewers to see and know them.
Most likely it seems that there are strong discussions to refute the nomination of Eleftheria Eleftheriou (and this would be for once a wise decision). If ERT made an open call for new artists to participate in a national final, that would be fine but the Greek broadcaster had a good reason to contact the record labels for nominations and that was to get the best maximum nominations to appeal the Greek public and furthermore the international viewers of the contest. The oikotimes.com personal estimation is that Eleftheria Eleftheriou is actually one step out of the contest but somehow the boy band Melisses will ultimately remain in the list.
It is also reported by STAR Channel earlier this morning that ANT1 (the host broadcaster of the X Factor show) is considering the option to re-enter Eleftheria Eleftheriou in the X Factor participants after the latest voting developments and withdrawals. This is of course an option that would ease the ERT decision.
The Greek broadcaster also slammed after the big and fat ''no'' of the Kapoutzidis - Makripoulias duo. The upcoming hosts as oikotimes.com revealed will be Themis and Natalia (both working on ALPHA TV weekend show and Themis is the top host of MAD TV, the ultimate Greek TV station), but for sure we will not see a show during the selection like we used to.
