Congratulations Sibel to your participation in Melodifestivalen 2010. How does it feel to be back? Wonderful. It’s a great privilege. Last time was 2008 and it was a very special moment for me. And I had a wonderful pink dress. I didn’t expect to go to the next round but I did. I had so much fun so I really wanted to do Melodifestivalen again.
In 2008 you were singing a beautiful ballad “That Is Where I’ll Go”. What kind of song do you have this time? I sing an up-tempo song. I promised myself that if I participate again it should not be with a ballad as I already done that.
Your dress in 2008 was really amazing. Have you been thinking about what to wear this time?
Yes. It will be colorful and dramatic dress by the designer Christina Strindlund. Her brand is called Fraulein Von Hast. She has also designed my dress today. It suits the energy in the song.
Was this song written specially for you?
It was not clear but I was the first one to record it. I could immediately relate to the lyrics and I think many girls will do that as well. It’s about a girl who is very tired of the boyfriends that promise a lot but nothing is happening. She is just waiting and waiting and finally she says STOP! Now it’s enough.
Does it feel different to participate this time compared to 2008?
Yes because I have done it before and what I learnt last time I have with me. As my song is an up-tempo I’m competing with other artists and in another field.
What have you been doing since 2008?
I have recorded my second album and it will be released spring 2010. I have been touring in China and Hong Kong, doing TV-shows, working a lot with Lady Gaga’s producers and we have done recordings in Morocco. Media wise it has been quiet but inside of me and with the music I have done a great progress.
Do you have a favorite Melodifestivalen or Eurovision entries from previous contests?
Of course I have many Eurovision favorites. I was born in Macedonia, Turkish origin and grew up in Sweden and I have been watching Eurovision since I was a little child. It was an important event for our family and we were always voting, writing lists etc. Sertab from Turkey 2003, Elena Paparizou from Greece and Carola are some of my favorites.

In Melodifestivalen 2008 she was in the final, thanks to the second chance, and finally she ended up 7th. She is born in Radovis in F.Y.R.O Macedonia, of Turkish origin. Most of her life she has been living in Sweden.
