“Thursdays” with Lovestoned
Composers: Sharon Vaughn (text), Peter Boström, Thomas G:son (music)
Participate in: Semi final 4, 27th February in Malmö
You are one of the two groups in the Malmö semifinal. Who is Lovestoned?
We are Elena Boyadjyeva, Emilie Fjällström, Robert Kragh and Pär Stenhammar. Three of us are from Sweden and one from Germany (Elena). We are signed up by Universal in Germany and have been touring there during summer. Now it’s time to conquer Scandinavia.
How long have you been working together?
About two and half years.
Have you recorded any albums?
We have single out in Germany since late summer and our first album is ready but not released yet. In Sweden it will be released directly after Melodifestivalen. We have been working with the CD for two years so we are very excited to get it out and eager to share our music with the people.
What kind of song is “Thursdays”?
It’s a happy mid-tempo pop-song with action. Many different instruments like accordions and violins. A cool song which reminds a bit of Alexander Rybak’s “Fairytale”.
Is the similarity with “Fairytale” on purpose?
No it’s not. The composers came up with it. Peter Broström produced our first single and he proposed us to try it. The composers wanted to find some “special people” for the performanceJ.
Do you have a favorite Melodifestivalen or Eurovision entries from previous contests?
One favorite is a song from Denmark, which we cannot remember the title of, Yoanna, Island, from last year and the winning “Fairytale”. EMD’s “Baby Goodbye” from Melodifestival 2009 is also a favorite.
Do you have any German favorites, Elena?
Not really. I don’t think Germany has done well during the past….. (sorry German readers…)
