The European Broadcasting Union finally took some serious decision to punish the broadcasters who do not respect the Eurovision rules and furthermore those who allow politics into a music contest.

Spain was fined by the EBU because they failed to air the second semifinal, although the country didn't participate as a BIG 4 member. Spain voted by jury and instead they aired a tennis game, launching Eurovision tapped with an hour of delay.

Azerbaijan fined as well by the EBU because of the incidents occurred during and after the Moscow edition. During the show, the broadcast of the Armenian song was scrambled, the televoting number for Armenia was distorted and we all remember the hilarious and inhuman action of state authorities to interrogate Azeri citizens for voting the Armenian song, violating the privacy of the televoting.

The Azeri broadcaster is happy (mainly because the fine is 2,700 Euros) and they state that they respect the EBU decision. Spain, on the other hand made no statement on the decision. It's not much to pay but for sure EBU made clear that no one is allowed to jerk around with this historic event!

This is ridiculous! EBU should be ashamed of themselves. 2,700¤!? HAHA a joke! Is this EURO or AZERIvision!?!? Azerbaijan has broken every rule: Vote rigging, vote blocking, vote controlling and even went as far as to violate their own citizens human rights just because of a song contest... and EBU is ok with that? I wonder how much black money Azerbaijan paid the EBU to get away with so obvious rule-breaking! It's a big shame! Azerbaijan violated the rules of the contest the most a country has EVER DONE and they get a 2,700¤ FINE!?!? EBU IS AZERBAIJAN'S DOG!

If EBU has charged individual with such amount it would be fuunny, but to punish country with such amount is mockery of eurovision

LOL THIS IS RIDICULOUS EBU! From now on, i urge other countries to do the same as they will not withdraw from the contest. 2700 eyuros is absolutely nothing

LMAO @ harkinson..... are you kidding?? well done for what? For punishing a boradcaster that manipulated its own televoting by scrambling the numbers with a fine of 2700 euros???? I think that gives the message that everyone is free to break the rules with minimum, if any, punishment
