Armenia has officially announced that it’s accepting acts for the national selection for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, taking place in Oslo in 2010. Until February 10, 2010, ten acts will be chosen that will then be eligible to participate in the televised selection stage. For this stage, Armenia’s Public TV broadcaster will select a jury who will judge the music, lyrics, and vocal abilities of the singers by secret ballot. The top 10 acts will be televised between February 10 and 15, 2010, and both the jury and viewers will be able to vote for their favourite, with a 50/50 split in votes. Participants in the song contest, in accordance with Eurovision rules, can perform individually, or as part of a duet or group not exceeding six members. Songs can be song in the performers’ native tongue or in any other European language. Armenian Public TV is accepting acts until February 1, 2010.
