All day ERT is in a panic along with Greek-Belgian singer Katerine Avgoustakis as the song with which she bids to Greek national final "Enjoy The Day" leaked on the web in the form of a remix. The song is now removed by the user on YouTube, but ERT is still expected to act on the issue.

Most of us downloaded the song and have it already in our computers. What we all say here is that the song is similar to Kelly Rowland & David Guetta's "When Love takes over". If she finally decides to submit this song we will be surprised if ERT allows this song to ridicule Greece all over Europe as plagiarism rules completely apply! However, the song is different enough that it may sneak through.

UPDATE

ERT is already furious with the leak which happened this afternoon. Already the other 8 participants contacted their record labels and demand for rules to apply; this means that Katerine cannot submit another song and she will be forced to withdraw from the national selection.


The song is already heard by many people and it is expected Greek media to air it as of tomorrow early morning. This means that we will all see that the song is having problems anyway as it's resemblance with the song by David Guetta is more than obvious.


We hope ERT will not conceal this story and will actually apply the rules which specifically demanded all artists to keep their entries a secret up to March 5 when ERT will air the national final preview show.

i just heard that katerine will visit Greece on Thursday in order to give a press conference and clear things out.I don't think she will be submitting any other song.She is reported to be very sad by all this ...It is true that oikotimes have been against her from day 1,It is also true that this is just a remix of the song and i heard that the original version in so much better...Katerine didn't break any rule.They gave the song to this dj in order to remix it and he uploaded it on the web...There are no written rules by ERT.It was just an oral demand that the songs should not be aired before march 5.I wonder if we have other licked songs of the greek final in the followings days what they will do...

Mad TV of Greece is reporting that Katerine was invited by ERT to enter another song and that only the SONG was disqualified. So, it seems as if we'll have to wait a little bit longer to know what the final decision is.

ENJOY THE DAY is an amazing dance track and Europeans are gonna uv it! For me its not an ESC-Winner, but a very respactable Song with amazing vocals by Katerine. My tipp for the greek final: EMIGRE or MELISSES (by the way their song krifa is the most succesful song in Greece for the last 6 Months running!!)

guys in 2008 secret combination and always and forever were released only 3 days before the ert press conference. they were leaked on february 3rd and the conference was on february 6th. plus they couldn't disqualify 2 of the 3 songs and just give it to chrispa like that... in contrary in 2005 the bigalis' song the light in our soul was disqualified from the national final for the same reason as katerina's...

LOVED the remix, though i do think it remides "when love takes over". if this was the final version (or 3 minutes of it anyway) i would support it. but i'm not that optimistic for the original version and i really don't care if she disqualifies. people here are so biased pro katerina that they would chose her even if her song was crap. so let's let the songs compete and not the artists. by the way did you hear maro lytra's elevator love? is this the one she wanted for eurovision? it's nice!

it is really disgusting how SOME (!) Greeks behave. People please please please be fair and careful ...because SOME (!!) critics or arguments have a touch of racism. ...... When Paparizou (a greco-swedish girl) attented with Antique the ESC-Stage (btw: NOBODY knew Antique at that time in Greece, and they had no great career in Greece at that time) ... NOBODY had a problem with that!!! and please do not forget our culture is already a multi-cultural .... not only because of the foreigners, but mainly because of the return of millions of Greeks from abroad, and they bring so many things! If an AMERICAN like Nick Calathes can play Basketball for our national team..... if our country can be governed by an greco-american.... than guys please please please... where is the problem with Avgoustaki?? 24th of July 2009? That's the date of the first post in that popjustice forum where they're talking about "Ayo technology". "Enjoy the say" is first mentioned in a post of January 10th 2010 in that page. Don't you people read properly? As for the song, I believe that ERT should not disqualify her. The 3 minutes version it's a totally different song. What ERT should do is to present the 9 songs in the next few days, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow in a press conference. 1st because we're dying to listen to them. 2nd because that way no one will be able to tell that the other 8 songs chances were harmed thanks to a video of a 7 minute remix of Katerine's song that was played only 1000 times in a 3 months period by Belgian people 90% the rest were French, German and Dutch (I did check the statistics before it was removed)

One other thing: although Katrine is very talented, I would have prefered an artist that was already established in Greece to represent the country. This being said, I feel somewhat bad for her given the criticism she's getting. If I were her, I'd withdraw from the Greek final (it may not be too late to represent a country where she'd be apreciated).

An investigation is certainly in order, but there is nothing so horrible about the song that would make Greece the object of ridicule. Also, this remix (since we have not heard the original version) is NOT a copy of "When Love Takes Over" any more than your typical pop song. I'm really saddened to see that Oikotimes has taken such a decisive anti-Katerina tone so early in the contest.

It's the same melodic line and lyrics even in the remix. As you can see except from EBU rules, there are also rules from each National Broadcaster that should be repsected by any candidate.

Well, oikotimes was against Katarine from the day she was announced as participant. It is interesting to see, that you downloaded the song first before reporting the break of rules to ERT. And may I inform you once again, that plagiarism is NOT forbidden by the EBU. The only thing you are not allowed to do, is to publish your song before October 1st or copy a complete song in total! Instead of asking, who put the video on youtube and why this happened, you still just want her to disappear and try to put pressure on ERT - WHAT A SHAME!!

Rule are rules and they should be applied for everyone. Even if ERT doesn't disqualify her, all the rest artists will send an instance against ERT, that will be a bigger scandal. Plus her song was the absolute nothing. All those rumors that she couldn't find a decent sony, were apparently true.
